We are not amused

This is why I haven't been able to hold a needle to finish Dee's towel. My hands have ached and hurt for two months, partly because they were cracked from the cold and partly because they just hurt. This weekend I dropped everything I picked up and cried when I did manage to hold anything.

Long story short, I have six ganglion cysts in my palm and wrist. Too many for cortisone, so we are resting for three weeks and then might still have surgery. Fun times.

I'll be lurking and writing some. Mostly I will be whining.

Happy Valentine's Day...

  2. Whine all you want those suckers hurt! I hope you can avoid surgery , but if it will relieve the pain I would ago for it. I was around baby nigerian dwarf goats today--I almost took two home! I don't think the Mister wants goats for Valentine's Day...LOL! Praying the pain subsides:-)

  4. Oh those hurt so bad! I have a 2 inch scar across the top of my right wrist from surgery to remove a BIG ganglion cyst several years ago. The doctor wanted to wait and see if it would go away. But, after weeks of not being able to do anything and not being able to sleep ... I begged him to schedule the surgery. I was so relieved when it was over. I healed quickly and the pain was gone! I pray for your healing as well.

  5. Hi Matty, I'm so sorry that you are in such pain. I hope resting does the trick for you and that you feel better real soon. Hang in there, in a few weeks you will all know what direction to take. This in between time is the hardest part. It really helps me when I'm in bad pain to watch some really funny slapstick movies, or get caught up in a series of fun books. Have you ever read the Tea Shop Mystery books by Laura Childs? They are like Nancy Drew for grownups. There are about ten of them. I have found that the more I can relax the easier it is to cope. The more I fight it the more it hurts. My mom always used to say "Just think in a few months honey, it will be like this never even happened". I used to find her words so comforting, and staying focused on that helps me get through the bad stuff. Rest well, you will know just what to do when you need to and soon all this will be behind you! Delisa :)
