These Boots Are Made For Walking

And that's just what I'll do. For the next three weeks I have lots of trips. I don't like to travel if it is all work and no play. I am not a happy camper. I want to be home when it gets dark; I want to sleep in my bed; I want to see my goats.

How did this happen??

Have you ever known someone who could manage to get you over committed? I have such a person in my life currently and want my freedom. Short of a full blown temper tantrum, I don't know what to do. We aren't related; I don't have to see this person but once or twice a year; I don't have any special relationship with this person beyond purely professional.

Ideas?

  1. NO..... Thats what I would say... I have made some people mad and some dont understand but its my life and not their place to judge or understand. I am a definite homebody and hate sleeping else where..
    But this is just me...
If you cant get out of it because its job related then grin and bare it till you can put a stop to it..

  3. I, too, am a homebody and resist outside commitments not of my own choosing. I just work really hard at saying "no" with a genuine, heartfelt smile. "Thanks so much for including/thinking of/asking/enrolling me. It sounds like a very worthwhile endeavor but it just doesn't work for me."

This does seem to work for me. Good luck, Matty!!!

  7. How about, "I'm soooo sorry, but I have a scheduling conflict. That is the day I have to rearrange my sock drawer."
