Fa-La-La-La-LAAA!!!

When the Airman was a wee lad, I was nursing him one evening and singing (er, wailing) "House at Pooh Corner." He turned his face from my breast and, as milk ran down his little fat cheeks, he put up one tiny hand, placed it over my mouth, and said his first word, "NOOOOOO!!!!!"

Since then, I have sung little in public, but today, my friends, I am singing to the roof tops. My Airman is coming for Christmas!

Grades are all done. And, while the weaving isn't, I am decorating today like it is nobody's business! And, as I pull things from the attic, I am singing my favorite Christmas song: "O Come, Immanuel."

There was a TRIPLE rainbow this morning, so I am taking it as a sign that this will be a glorious day!

Hope yours is as well.

And, for your listening pleasure, how about a little Loggins and Messina??

  3. I sang this song to my son Sam for so many years...every night! He had a Pooh bear that his grandmother had bought for him. He held Pooh by one paw until it was a sad stump!! That song has such great memories for me. Enjoy your visit! You sound over the moon!
    Hugs!

  4. I am SO happy for you! My son will be in Kentucky with his fiance but that will be okay. He'll only be gone Christmas Eve and Christmas proper.

Ummm... I'm not allowed to sing in public. First my Dad paid me a quarter NOT to sing in the car with him and then both my children asked me not to sing in church.

I'm not tone deaf because I can listen and enjoy wonderful music, just can't sing it... so I feel your pain (or we feel the pain of others?). I've always said I'll know when I've made it to Heaven because I will sing as beautifully as the angels.

  5. Hi Matty, oh what a sweet story! I love this song too. Was it really 1972 when it came out? Wow, it seems just like yesterday. Look how young they look! I really enjoy those old Loggins and Messina albums. I especially love the guitar solo from the song "Angry Eyes". It is incredible. But "The House on Pooh Corner", is timeless, and is something that will be remembered for generations. The first few notes take you immediately back to the innocent age, when all we needed were our teddy bears and a good night story! Delisa :)
