Countdown!

picutre: allposters.com

Let the games begin!

While my Mother and Sissie are out doing the Black Friday game, I am home beginning the second day of our Christmas tradition -- watching a Christmas movie a day.

There are only two rules: we start with Miracle on 34th Street on Thanksgiving night and end with White Christmas on Christmas Eve. It is a perfect way to begin our holidays.

Last night, we started with Miracle on 34th Street; John made the most wonderful hot chocolate with crushed peppermint and Don made popcorn with just the right amount of butter. We all took our showers, got in our jammies, and settled down for day one.

Like I said, life is good, ya'll.

  1. Yes indeedy, let's get started!
I haven't been this excited about Christmas 'ready-ing' in ages...must be all my blogging friends!
I watch "It's a Wonderful Life" at least twice and "White Christmas" whenever I see it's on!

  2. What a great idea!

When we bought a DVD player years ago, the first DVD we bought was White Christmas. :)

We have a few favorite corny Christmas TV moves we love, too. We love A Smoky Mountain Christmas, Ebbie, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and a few others which I can't think of right now.

  3. We always have a big discussion about when to watch "Charlie Brown's Christmas" as it is one of my favorites, Brenda! I want to watch it near Christmas; Don is in favor of NOW!!

We are negotiating tonight's movie now! LOL

  4. Wasn't Natalie Wood an adorable child? And Edmund Gwenn reminds us so much of our beloved Gramps. Our favorite Christmas movie is Remember the Night with Barbara Stanwyck and Fred McMurray. Matbe because I want that farmhouse!

  5. I love "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street". I don't know of to may others though, I'm not much of a TV person, maybe you be kind enough to list them off so we can look for some to enjoy. We do have a wonderful John Denver Christmas Concert on DVD, we enjoy watching as well.

Thanks for your kind congrats on our blog, praying you get to the same place, I can tell you it feels wonderful!

  6. Matty,
We love to watch Christmas movies too! We started with A Christmas Carol. The version with Alistair Sim is our personal favorite. It's a Wonderful Life is up next!
