Mee...I know I'm better for knowing you, Matty! Meeting you and Jane and Joni and Lois - all strong, caring, self-reliant women who love life - has helped so much to prepare me for the road ahead. And maybe someday I will touch someone else in a similar way. Leaving fingerprints - I love that analogy!

God Bless you Matty!Sandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09852985202199173748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440404740544605101.post-45277698944984366792011-10-28T07:47:42.344-04:002011-10-28T07:47:42.344-04:00I'm always so torn in the fall...I love the se...I'm always so torn in the fall...I love the season, but hate the start of work, a work which leaves me exhausted, confused, and at time, crazy! I think that at mid-life, I tend to spend time reviewing the different lives I've had. It can be amusing, but also overwhelming. Your musings sound so familiar to me! I so enjoy coming to your blog and spending time with you.
HugsSassafras and Winterberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15153493021653446039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440404740544605101.post-13968523382067757942011-10-27T21:44:23.536-04:002011-10-27T21:44:23.536-04:00Oh Matty I love you and think you are rocken, I ho...Oh Matty I love you and think you are rocken, I hope that makes you smile. I cannot stand you are sad. I always think of this time of year as bubble baths, candle light and homemade pumpkin pie. Those make me smile xoxo ClariceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440404740544605101.post-21908407505900153372011-10-27T21:04:45.931-04:002011-10-27T21:04:45.931-04:00I was just thinking recently how I miss those long...I was just thinking recently how I miss those long talks with friends in my youth about books and how we would solve the problems of the world... sigh.

We also had plans changed by 9/11. My husband was actually in the air between Detroit and Chicago when the first tower was hit... to catch another plane to take him to New Hampshire where he was to find us a place to live.

He had been transferred from Detroit to their New England plant which thrilled us at the time since we would be closer to Steph and family.

He ended up taking two days to get back to Detroit, flew out a lot later to find a place, and just when I was putting the signed lease in the mailbox he called to tell me NOT to send it. The parent company was closing that plant due to 9/11.

He was soon out of a job and the rest is history but we also believe we are where God always had us to be at this time.Brenda@CoffeeTeaBookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02719695370857675146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440404740544605101.post-41242289691203160062011-10-27T17:28:57.609-04:002011-10-27T17:28:57.609-04:00Hi Matty, your post was very powerful and meaningf...Hi Matty, your post was very powerful and meaningful. I have had times in my life like that too, where I have gone right instead of left and wondered about how things might have been. I think it is good to ponder such things once in awhile, it keeps you in touch with who you really are and where you want your life to go. You seem like someone who lives life in a very a full and deep way! Have a lovely evening ahead! I'm sure your family, students and friends would say you have made an impact upon their lives, so I wouldn't worry to much about your legacy.
